The Visconde da Luz is a restaurant serving traditional Portuguese cuisine, located in the heart of the peaceful town of Cascais. Ever since opening our doors in 1976, we have been creating incomparable gastronomic experiences, immersed in tradition and charm. Our restaurant is proudly located in the midst of an exuberant and luscious garden, ensuring a serene refuge and the very best in Portuguese flavours close to the blue expanse of the sea.

At Visconde da Luz, we are a synonym for excellence, proudly saluting our 48 years of unshakeable dedication to our profession. Our legacy is engraved in the memories of generations as families have made countless return visits to savour the flavours that have defined us for decades.

Our pride and joy reside in the abundance of the Portuguese coastline, with the freshest and highest quality fish and shellfish resulting in such delicious dishes as Sole à la Cascais, Salted Sea Bass and Shellfish Cataplana Stew. Each dish is thus a celebration of the riches of the ocean, prepared with mastery to delight the taste of those who seek us out.

We provide two dining areas that accommodate up to 160 guests and thereby guaranteeing plenty of space whether for casual meals or dining in groups.
